There are various holidays in India each year. However, the Indian stock market has only some of these. With the exception of Saturdays and Sundays, most other days of the week are regarded as working days in the stock market.
If you’re wondering, is the stock market open today? Every week, from Monday through Friday from 9:15 am to 3:30 pm, the stock market is open for trading and investment. That is, unless the exchange has notified any trading holidays in advance. The NSE has also declared the market holiday, commonly known as NSE holidays 2022. Let us discover more about the NSE holiday schedule in 2022 (this is different from the NSE holiday schedule 2021).

Every year, around 18 days are designated as trading holidays. If a few of those fall on a weekend day, they are not counted since the stock market is closed on weekends. 13 trading holidays fall on weekdays this year. This means that all trading activity will be halted for these 13 days.
