SBI debit card: How to block a card?

An account holder should block their debit card immediately if it has been stolen or misplaced. Below mentioned are the methods and steps to block an SBI debit card:

SBI Toll-Free Number

If you have a registered mobile number, you can call SBI’s toll-free Number 1800 180 1290 or SMS BLOCK XXXX to 5676791. Alternatively, you can block your SBI debit card via SBI Net Banking or Mobile App.

SMS

From your registered mobile number, send ‘BLOCK*space>XXXX’ to 567676 to block your SBI ATM card.

XXXX stands for the last 4-digits of your card number. After your request is accepted, you will receive a confirmation SMS with the relevant details like ticket number, date and time of blocking the debit card.

Net banking

You can access your net banking account by visiting the bank’s official website. After logging into the bank’s net banking portal, go to the ‘e-Services’ tab. Navigate to ‘ATM Card Services>Block ATM Card’ and follow the instructions. This will enable the ATM card to be blacklisted.
