Nominations for Overbeek Gold Medal 2016 are collected. The Medal will be awarded during the ECIS 2016 Conference. The Overbeek Gold Medal is designed as an award that recognizes extended periods of scientific excellence, including excellent careers in, and inspiring contributions to, the field of colloid and interface science. In this edition, the medal was awarded to Prof. Piero Baglioni (Firenze).
Solvay Prize 2016
Nominations for the Solvay Prize 2016 are collected. The Prize will be awarded during the ECIS 2016 Conference. The ECIS-Solvay Prize is annually granted to a European scientist for original scientific work of outstanding quality, described in one or several publications, patents or other documents made public in the five years before the prize is delivered. The work should be in the field of colloid and interface science. Please visit ECIS web site for more details.
In this edition, the prize was awarded to Prof. Shlomo Magdassi (Jerusalem).
Enzo Ferroni Award for a Young Scientist
The Enzo Ferroni Foundation acknowledge the top level scientific activity of young researchers in the field of colloid and interface science with the Enzo Ferroni prize which will be awarded during the ECIS 2016 Conference.
The prize will be awarded for the best oral presentation given during the meeting by a young scientist. The applicants will declare their intention to compete for the award along with the submission of the abstract of their contribution to the Conference. Please refer to the profile requested for the applicants.
The decision will be taken during the meeting by a special Jury nominated by the Chair of the Conference, and comprising: the President of the Enzo Ferroni Foundation, one representative of the ECIS Board, one member of the local Organizing Committee, two representatives selected from the plenary speakers and the International Committee of the annual meeting.
The award consisting in 500,00 euro and a certificate from the Foundation will be handed over by the President of the Enzo Ferroni Foundation to one young scientist.
Langmuir Award
For the first time the Langmuir award will be present at the ECIS Conference. The prize will be awarded for the best oral presentations of young scientists. Please refer to the profile requested for the applicants.
The applicants will declare their intention to compete for the award along with the submission of the abstract of their contribution to the Conference.
The decision will be taken during the meeting by a special Jury nominated by the Chair of the Conference, and comprising: the Langmuir Editor-in-Chief, one representative of the ECIS Board, one member of the local organizing Committee, two representatives selected from the plenary speakers and the International Committee of the annual meeting.
The award consisting in 300,00 euro and a certificate from Langmuir will be handed over by the Langmuir Editor-in-Chief to three young scientists.

As every year ECIS will award the best posters of young researchers and PhD students. The prizes are sponsored by Elsevier.
The award consisting in 300,00 euro will be handed over to six young researchers by a delegate of Elsevier.
Participants are not asked to apply to this prize, all the presented posters will be evaluated by a special Jury.
