Stamp duty in Rajasthan collection: Effect of COVID-19
Between March and June 2020, the Rajasthan state government lost a whopping Rs 500 crores in collection of stamp duty in Rajasthan. While transactions picked up post-June, it is still difficult to estimate whether the department will be able to meet its target of Rs 5,600 crores. The primary reason for the fall in collection of stamp duty in Rajasthan, can be mapped to the subdued activity in Rajasthan’s property market.
