The CSC e-Governance or Digital Sewa Kendra online portal has been developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology under the Common Service Centre Scheme. CSC Digital Seva Kendra objectives and benefits
CSC, the full form of which is Common Service Centre, is a platform that allows people to apply for and obtain government documents, including various certificates.
- One can avail of the online services by paying a nominal fee.
- Since services, such as applying for certificates, can be accessed online, there is no need to visit government offices, making the process easier, faster and cost-effective.
- Using these documents, citizens can easily apply for different government schemes.
A CSC centre is available in every village and city. Citizens may also open a CSC centre or Sewa Kendra. One can apply for a CSC Digital Sewa Kendra online. The process involves registering as a Village Level Entrepreneur or VLE. One must be 18 years old to be eligible.

CSC Digital Seva Kendra: Eligibility for registration
An individual must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
- He or she should be a citizen of India and a resident of the area where the CSC Seva Kendra is to be opened.
- Residence proof.
- Certificate and class 10 mark sheet from a recognised board.
- A valid mobile number.
- Document proofs such as Aadhar card and PAN card copy.
- Passport-sized photographs.
- Picture of CSC centre.
- Email ID.
- Bank account details.
One can also apply for a Telecentre Entrepreneur certificate (TEC) online from the CSC portal, which can be used when applying to open a CSC.
For opening a CSC Digital Seva Kendra, one requires computers and related gadgets, which include:
- Computer with a minimum of 1 GB RAM for fast computing and a minimum memory of 120 GB.
- A licensed operating system.
- Internet connection with a minimum speed of 128 kbps for browsing and uploading data.
- Printer.
- Scanner.
- Webcam and digital camera.
- A minimum battery backup of four hours.
CSC Digital Seva Kendra registration process
The steps to register oneself for the CSC Digital Seva are mentioned below:
- Go to the official CSC website at https://register.csc.gov.in/.
- Click on ‘VLE registration’.
- Select the application type from the drop-down. Enter your mobile number and captcha code. Click on ‘Submit’.
- An application form will be displayed on the screen. Provide the required details.
- Click on ‘Next’. Provide your bank account details.
- Click on ‘Next’. Provide the required registration details.
- Click on ‘Submit’.
How to track CSC application status
- Go to the official CSC Seva Kendra portal or click here.
- Click on ‘Track application’.
- Provide your application reference number and captcha code.
- Click on ‘Submit’ to view the CSC status.

CSC Digital Seva Kendra portal login
- Go to the official CSC portal or click here and click on ‘My Account’.
- Enter the CSC ID and captcha code. Click on ‘Submit’ to log in.
To access Digital Seva Connect, click on ‘Employee login’. Enter your CSC login id and password to sign in to the portal.
How to apply for CSC TEC Certificate?
- Go to the official CSC Digital Seva Kendra portal or click here.
- Click on ‘TEC Certificate’ under ‘Apply’.
- You will be directed to a new website. Click on ‘Login with us’.
- Click on ‘Register’ under ‘Public Users’.
- Complete the registration form by providing all the required details. Upload the photo.
- Enter the captcha code and click on ‘Submit’.
- Make a payment of Rs 1,479. You can pay through debit card/credit card, net banking, UPI, etc.
- Applicants will receive CSC login ID and password.
- Log in using your credentials.
- Now, you can access the learning page and the syllabus.
Applicants will be required to appear for an examination. Upon successfully clearing the exam, the TEC certificate will be awarded.
CSC Digital Village Scheme
The CSC Digital Village Scheme or CSC Digi Gaon Yojana aims to digitise every village and digitally connect all the villages while making rural citizens digital literate. One can access the official website of Digital Village to view the list of CSC digital village VLE. Initially, six villages were selected under the digital village campaign as pilots to deliver all governance services across rural areas through the CSC Seva Kendra. All the villages have easy access to services such as healthcare, telemedicine, financial services, low-cost internet connectivity, education and skill development. Nearly 2.5 lakh gram panchayats are covered in this scheme.
