PMG Disha: Goal, benefits and registration

[ecis2016.org] The centre has launched the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan to help rural households which can’t afford to buy computers.

Initiated by the Prime Minister of India, the mission of Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan is to increase people’s level of digital literacy. As part of this initiative, the central government will provide individuals living in rural regions with training on how to use computers and other digital devices (such as tablets, smartphones, and so on), as well as teach them how to send and receive emails and provide internet service.

PMG Disha 2022

The people living in rural regions around the nation are the core demographic for this specific campaign. Families living in rural regions, who do not have a single member who is computer proficient and who does not have access to the internet, will be eligible to receive benefits from the PMGDISHA 2022 initiative.

One member of a household will get training in areas linked to computers as part of this programme. There will be an application process to be a part of the Prime Minister’s Rural Digital Literacy Campaign 2022.

PMG DISHA 2022: Goal of Rural Digital Literacy Campaign in 2022

According to a 2014 poll by the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) on educational attainment, just 6% of rural Indian families have access to a computer at home. The majority of rural residents are either illiterate or have less schooling. As a result, more than 15 million households lack access to computers.

So, to help rural households which can’t afford to buy computers, the government has launched the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan. To raise public awareness of the importance of technology and to educate people about it. In the context of the Rural Digital Literacy Campaign 2022, the goal is to enable each individual member of a rural family to become financially independent.
