Under the PM Kisan Yojana, all landholding farmer families in the country having cultivable landholding in their names receive annual financial benefit of Rs 6,000 in 3 installments of Rs 2,000 each. The central government has set the timeframe for releasing the 1st installment of Rs 2,000 in a year between April and July, the 2nd installment between August and November, and the 3rd installment between December and March. However, it has been releasing the 2nd installments for each year in August only since the launch of the scheme in 2019 (view dateline).

However, all the farmers who are eligible to receive government subsidy under the PM Kisan Yojana have to complete their e-KYC to receive the funds directly in their account. The government has extended the deadline to complete the e-KYC till August 31, 2022, as against July 31, 2022, earlier.

“eKYC is mandatory for PM Kisan-registered farmers. OTP-based eKYC is available on the PM KISAN portal… or nearest CSC centres may be contacted for biometric-based eKYC,” is the directive issued on the PM Kisan official portal.
