To develop and urbanise Rajkot and its nearby areas, villages and Talukas, the Rajkot Urban Development Authority (RUDA full form) was constituted in 1978. RUDA Rajkot is responsible for overseeing and sanctioning construction and infrastructure development across the suburbs of the city of Rajkot.

RUDA Rajkot: Jurisdiction

The Rajkot Urban Development Authority has jurisdiction over 686 sq kms of area, covering 48 villages in the city’s periphery, along with the area of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation. The notified Rajkot RUDA includes one district and five talukas including Rajkot, Paddhari, Lodika, Kotdasangani and Tankara. RUDA covers 35 villages of Rajkot taluka, 11 villages of Lodhika taluka, five villages of Padadhari taluka, two villages of Kotda Sangani taluka and a village of Tankara taluka.

Rajkot development plan 2031

The second revised draft development plan 2031 Rajkot is being prepared, owing to the demand of the projected population of next two decades. The existing land use, circulation pattern, development potentiality of the land etc., are taken into consideration while deciding future proposals. Proper demarcation of residential, industrial, commercial zone, as well as open and recreational spaces are being planned to give an overall urban form to Rajkot RUDA by 2031.

RUDA Housing Scheme 2021

The RUDA allots housing units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), one of the ambitious projects of prime minister Narendra Modi. Under the PMAY, the RUDA Rajkot authority offers housing options to the economically weaker section (EWS), lower income group (LIG) and middle-income group (MIG) in its town planning scheme. Applicants can fill the RUDA Awas Yojana online form 2021 by following this procedure:

Step 1: Visit the RUDA Rajkot PMAY portal (click here) and scroll down.

Step 2: Fill the checkbox on the RUDA online form and agree to the terms and conditions and click on ‘Application Form’.

Step 3: You will be redirected to a new page to fill the RUDA online form.

Step 4: Upload all the requisite documents on the RUDA Rajkot website, fill in the information and pay Rs 100 as registration fee.

Step 5: Submit the RUDA online form application and note the acknowledgment number. You will get an SMS upon approval of the application.
