Noida: 23 projects worth Rs 2,821 crores unveiled

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, on March 2, 2020, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 23 projects worth Rs 2,821 crores in Gautam Buddh Nagar. The projects inaugurated included a multi-level car parking with space for 7,000 vehicles at Sector 38A (Rs 500 crores), a government hospital in Sector 39 (Rs 344 crores) and an underground parking for 276 cars and 42 two-wheelers at Sector 5 (Rs 32.25 crores). A foot-over bridge at Sector 145 metro station (Rs 10.81 crores), another in Sector 62 (Rs 5 crores), one between Sector 71 and 72 (Rs 5 crores) and four pink toilets in sectors 16, 15, 28 and 74 (altogether costing Rs 0.76 crores), were also inaugurated, according to officials.

Three power substations at Sector 148 (Rs 366 crores) and two at Sector 38A (Rs 98.45 crores and Rs 10 crores) were also inaugurated. A total of 13 projects were inaugurated, worth Rs 1,452 crores, while foundation stones were laid for 10 projects worth Rs 1,369 crores, the officials said. Foundation stones were laid for a Habitat and Convention Center in Sector 94 (Rs 685 crores), sewage treatment plants at Sector 168 (Rs 175 crores), Sector 123 (142 crores), a flyover on MP 3 Road near Parthala Chowk (Rs 90 crores), intelligent traffic management system (Rs 88.45 crores) and a golf course in Sector 151 (Rs 90 crores). Besides, foundations were also laid for two underpasses on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and for a project for installation of 21,946 LED lights (Rs 8.32 crores).

January 2, 2019: Infrastructure projects worth Rs 2,881 crores, including elevated roads, underpasses and a new district hospital building, would be inaugurated, or works for them started in Noida, in 2019, officials said, on January 1, 2019. The projects to be opened for the public, include a Dada-Dadi Park in Sector 62 at a cost of Rs 14.57 crores, a Traffic Park in Sector 108 at Rs 34.71 crores, a Shilp Haat and Bunkar Bhawan in Sector 33-A at Rs 72.57 crores and a Command Control Centre in Sector 94 at Rs 22.35 crores, a senior official said.

“A six-lane second bridge near Kalindi Kunj on the Yamuna river at a cost of Rs 119.95 crores and a bridge over the Shahdara Drain near the Yamuna for Rs 20 crores, will also become functional from around mid-January,” Noida Authority’s general manager Rajeev Tyagi said. The projects, whose foundation stone would be laid in 2019, include an underpass between Sector 96 and Sector 126 covering a distance of 2.36 kms under the Noida to Greater Noida Expressway, estimated to cost Rs 97.66 crores, he said. Tyagi said work would also begin for a 780-metre-long underpass at the junction of Sectors 51, 51 and 71, 72 at a cost of Rs 55.28 crores.

Works will also start for a 5.5-km elevated road corridor from Chilla Regulator near Mayur Vihar (Sector 14-A Noida) to the Mahamaya Flyover along the Shahdara Drain at a cost of Rs 650 crores, he said. Besides, work is likely to begin in February 2019, on an elevated road from the Agahpur Filling Station on the DSC Road up to the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Sector 81. “This project is worth around Rs 451.64 crores, he said. The inauguration of other projects worth Rs 1,342.37 crores is likely by the end of this calendar year,” he said.

These projects include underground parking in Sectors 1, 3, 5 and 16-A , a multi-level parking in Sector 38-A, an indoor stadium and a shooting range in the Noida Stadium, a new district hospital building in Sector 39 and a city bus terminal in Sector 82, he said.

“Parking space for 9,761 cars will be developed for the people of Noida before May 2019 with the opening of these parking facilities at Rs 822.69 crores,” he said.
