In a move that would further enhance connectivity to Noida’ upcoming international airport, highways minister Nitin Gadkari has announced that the government has approved a plan to link the Jewar Airport with the upcoming Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

For this, a link road spanning 31.425 kilometres will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 2,415 crores, the minister said, in a series of tweets on July 8, 2022. The link road would start from Ballabhag on the stretch which is being constructed between KMP Expressway and DND Flyway.
The National Highways Authority of India is in the process of finalising the company that would build the six-lane road project, which is expected to be completed within two years. Reportedly, 12 companies are in the fray to construct the Jewar Airport link road, to connect with the 1,350-km Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project.
While giving the airport direct connectivity with Haryana, the link road would also connect Jewar with Agra, Mathura and the remainder of western Uttar Pradesh. The project is part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana, the minister said.

Recall here that prime minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Jewar Airport in Noida, on November 25, 2021. The airport is billed to be the fourth-largest international airport in the world.
