From smartphones to ‘smart homes’, technology is now redefining the way we live. The basic concept of a smart home, is to provide its occupants with services that help them save time, energy and effort, provide instant access to daily routines that are pre-configured without the need to prompt, provide security through sensor-based motion and video surveillance and also provide SOS services, in case of emergencies (especially for homes with senior citizens).

The home automation industry in India, for a very long period, was accessible only to a select few, owing to reasons like unaffordability, limited number of brands and the use of wire-based devices that needed one to reconfigure the existing layout. With the growth of technology and Wi-Fi-based devices, home automation is steadily being accepted across segments in India.

These devices also easily integrate with voice-based artificial intelligence (AI) devices like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, to further improve access control.

These devices are capable of being configured as per our requirements and today, we can practically talk to our home and control each and every appliance and device, through voice-based technology.
