The entire Mumbai Metro Line 2A is an 18 km corridor and will have 17 metro stations Mumbai Metro Line-7 is a 33.5-km-long Mumbai metro route and will have 29 Mumbai Metro stations. Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7 will have an interchange at Dahisar. Also, the new Mumbai metro Lines 2A and 7 will connect at DN Nagar metro station to the existing Mumbai Metro Line 1 that runs between Ghatkopar and Versova.

Furthermore, to enhance connectivity, the MMRDA has plans to build a foot overbridge at Goregaon station on Metro Line 7 which will connect to the Goregaon suburban railway station. Tenders for the same will be announced by MMRDA shortly.
Prime minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stones for both the Mumbai Metro routes in 2015 and they were initially to start the following year and then in October 2020. Owing to the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, the project was further delayed.
