Work on Mumbai Metro-7 corridor to begin post monsoon

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has said that it is confident of starting work on the Metro-7 corridor, from Andheri (E) to Dahisar (E), after the monsoons.

“Metro corridors will be the saviours as far as the future of this city is concerned. Hence, the necessary urgency is being afforded to the metro rail projects. We are sure of starting construction of the Metro-7 corridor, post monsoon,” MMRDA metropolitan commissioner UPS Madan said.

To this effect, the MMRDA has appointed Ayesa Ingenieria Arquitectura SAV, a design consultant, for the Rs 6,208 crore Andheri (E) to Dahisar (E) Metro-7 corridor.

The executive committee of the MMRDA, headed by state chief secretary Swadhin Kshatriya, has accorded administrative approval to the appointment of Ayesa Ingenieria Arquitectura SAV as the detail design consultant, a statement said.

The firm is expected to develop architectural, electrical and mechanical plans and designs of all the 14 stations on the 16.5-km-long Metro-7 corridor.

Further, the firm will carry out design for the depot structure and proof-check the designs submitted by the contractors, the release stated.

The 14 stations on the Metro-7 corridor are:

  2. Shankarwadi
  3. JVLR Junction
  4. Mahanand
  5. Aarey
  6. Pathan Wadi
  7. Pushpa Park
  8. Bandongri
  9. Mahindra & Mahindra
  10. Magathane
  11. Devipada
  12. National Park
  13. Ovaripada
  14. Dahisar (E)
