Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, on July 26, 2017, said that his government was fully committed to safeguarding the interests of home buyers and redressing their problems. Adityanath launched the website of the UP Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) and said that it will help the government to redress the problems of home buyers in a speedy manner.

The chief minister pointed out that buyers were disappointed over builders’ failure to meet project deadlines. Confidence between builders and consumers was essential, for the growth of the real estate sector, he said.

“The state government is fully committed, to safeguarding the interest of house buyers in the state and redressing all their problems. There has been a lack of confidence between builders and consumers because of failure to meet project deadlines. The central government has now brought the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016. Consumers will get their houses in time. It will also resolve the issues faced by builders,” he added.
