Okhla Industrial Area or OIA or simply Okhla, is divided into three phases. The planned township of NOIDA or New Okhla Industrial Development Area, gets its name from the locality. Okhla is one of the oldest villages in Delhi, which is situated near the bank of the Yamuna river. This region has the Okhla Canal or Agra Canal built by the British, which is now called the Okhla Head.
