PAN card link with Aadhaar card can be done with a simplified online procedure. For this, one is required to sign in to the official income tax e-filing website www.incometax.gov.in.
On the www incometax gov in site, the Aadhaar PAN link can be done in the following two ways:
- In a two-step procedure for PAN Aadhaar link online, without signing into your account.
- In a six-step procedure for linking PAN and Aadhar by signing into your account.

Step 1: Visit the official incometaxindiaefiling gov in website to link Aadhar card with the PAN card. Go to the quick links or ‘Our Services’ tab. Then, click on ‘Link Aadhaar’ option.
Step 2: Submit the required details, including PAN, Aadhaar number, mobile number and name, as specified on the Aadhaar card.
If only the year of birth is specified on the Aadhaar card, opt for the check box stating, ‘I have only year of birth in Aadhaar card’. Tick on the box that mentions, ‘I agree to validate my Aadhaar details’. Select ‘Continue’.
Applicants will get a six-digit OTP on their registered mobile numbers. Submit this OTP in the required field on the verification page. Now, click on the ‘Validate’ button.

How to link Aadhaar with PAN card by signing into your account?
Step 1: Go to the incometaxindiaefiling gov in site for Aadhaar card link with PAN. Register on the portal.
Step 2: In case you are already registered, then, proceed to log in with your username and password.
Step 3: Complete the login procedure by clicking on ‘Please confirm your secure access message’ and submit your password. Click on ‘Continue’.

Step 4: After signing into the portal, click on the ‘Link Aadhaar’ option. You can find the same link in ‘My Profile’ section under the ‘Personal Details’ option.
Step 5: Provide the relevant details and some details, such as name, date of birth, gender, etc., will be auto-filled as per the details submitted during registration. Submit the Aadhaar number and name. Verify the details as per the details on the Aadhaar card.
It is mandatory to click on the ‘I agree to validate my Aadhaar details’ check box. Click on the box mentioning ‘I have only year of birth in Aadhaar card’ if only year of birth is mentioned in your Aadhaar card. Now, click on ‘Link Aadhaar’.

Step 3: On the next page, enter the PAN and Aadhaar number. Then, ‘View Link Aadhaar Status’.
