The exemption of 25% is being given to those property owners, who clear all their property tax dues and arrears, Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Kavita Jain said. Besides, a 1% rebate would also be given, if the payment of property tax is made online, she added.
In view of the rush of property tax payers and delay in receipt of property tax bills by the owners, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar approved the proposal to extend the last date for payment of property tax. Jain said municipality officers have been directed to inform the people about this decision, so that they can avail the benefit of exemption.
The officers have also been directed to remove the errors in the property tax process, which were identified during a survey and to re-check the cover area, so that people would not have to pay more than the actual amount due.
