Design idea behind the beautiful home
A minimalistic approach was the key behind the design of this large residence in Mumbai’s Juhu suburb, in order to create the perfect balance of modernity, comfort and elegance. Designed as a getaway home for a Gujarat-based family, this property is intended for the client’s son, who is a working professional. Therefore, care has been taken to bring out the contemporary style and at the same time, make it a place fit for a bachelor, as well as his visiting family members.
Interior design highlights of the Jardin Home
We see some strikingly beautiful features in this property:
- There is a blend of neutral and monochromatic palettes, which is very calming.
- Check out the accent furniture pieces that add to the vibe of the space.
- The design allows ample natural light.
- There are large casement windows throughout the house.
The house opens into a spacious living room and there is almost a flowing transition into the dining room. In here, the décor and furniture complement the look of the space. Note the abstract rug that is evocative and is paired with a minimalistic grey sofa that accentuates the soft luxurious feeling. The teal blue upholstered armchair brings a zen-like sense of serenity to the space.

We noted Vastu Shastra-compliance in the way this property has been designed. The façade is panelled with mirrors. Also, the design of this property is nature-inspired. There are plants added to the space and the design embraces shades of blue and green.

The bedrooms
The house belongs to a modern, working professional. Quirk Studio has, thus, created a zone that resonates with this person – casual, relaxed and contemporary. The wall has a lime plaster finish. A walk-in closet is hidden away in the wall panelling, allowing for a clutter-free zone. Diagonal oak flooring adds colour and warmth to the bedroom.
The parents’ bedroom is different and is more graceful, with a welcoming feel. The bright interiors of the bedroom match the choice of furniture and décor of the room. The panelling behind the bed contrasts with the white rattan furniture. The parent’s suite has oak flooring making it look like a restful, cosy room. The designers have ensured that the interiors remain subtle, with the furniture being repurposed and paired with neutral tones. Observe the cherry blossom wallpaper in hues of grey and white that adds to the nature-based theme.

The kitchen
The kitchen is closely connected with the dining and living area by a sliding door. It creates a sense of continuity with the open layout of the space. The kitchen is simple, with back-painted glass and rose gold cabinet handles. The modular design adds storage space within this compact area and increases the utility and functionality inside the kitchen.
