Charges are 50 basis points lower, i.e., 6.5%, in case the property is being registered jointly, in the name of a man and a woman. So, if a husband and wife buy the same property and register it jointly, they will pay Rs 3.75 lakhs as stamp duty and registration charge (6.5%+1% of Rs 50 lakhs).
