While properties in these cities are much more affordable, when compared to the big cities, buyers do have to pay a substantial part of the transaction value as stamp duty and registration charge on purchases here, as well. *If the property is being registered in the name of a man, they also have to pay 20% of the 6% stamp duty as labour cess. This means that if the stamp duty is, say, Rs 100, another Rs 20 will have to be paid as labour cess. In case of the women, this cess is levied at 1% of the 5% stamp duty.
Stamp duty on affordable housing in Jaipur till September 2021
In Budget 2021-22, the Rajasthan government cut the stamp duty on properties in high-rises worth up to Rs 50 lakhs, till June 30, 2021. The state government has decided to further extend the benefit of the reduced rates to home buyers, till September 30, 2021. The stamp duty calculation on such properties, thus, is as provided under:
