Ram Charan’s house: Design and interiors

Tahiliani Homes is the architectural and interior firm under the aegis Tarun Tahiliani, the country’s fashion icon. His younger son, Jahan Tahiliani, stated that Indian modern aesthetics had been incorporated for this mega house, along with Indian artisanal touches. He talked of how the interiors were completely redone, although the main façade remained intact. Marble with inlay work, as well as patterns and motifs from across the country can be found in the house. The artisanal touches are also visible through the lighting, detailing, borders, brocades and chandeliers.

Tahiliani talked of how Chiranjeevi adores the special black and white room, with its chessboard-like flooring. The actor is a devotee of Lord Bajrangbali and there’s a special corner in the basement temple for his favorite idol. There is ample space to sit and chant or even meditate here. Jahan Tahiliani also highlighted the biggest talking point of the new bungalow – namely, the Jade room. Jade is a green ornamental mineral, taken as an imperial gem by several ancient Chinese dynasties, who believed that it would safeguard them from harm. Considering that the family is now heavily into movie production and other ventures, this is one concept that has found great favor with them. This is in sync with Vastu principles and Jade has been used throughout the flooring, wall décor and ceiling, as per the designer.
